In my world, I live and breathe by Dreamweaver and I eagerly awaited the launch of CS4. I've decided to take every last bit of training available for CS4 including the training that applies to someone who's never used Dreamweaver or any other des/dev software.
Truth is I've been using Dreamweaver since version 1.0 - did I just date myself?
These are still Lynda.com Training Sessions.

Interestingly enough, to me, I've never used wordpress any other way than to install it directly to my own site(s). I took this training to illustrate proficiency as well as to pick up the little tweaks here and there that aren't already evident. Fortunately - wordpress is very straightforward with or without training!

Shopping carts are absolutely unavoidable. This training focused so much on Cartweaver though, I don't know that I'd give it the name that the site gave it. Regardless, it was very comprehensive and Cartweaver is one of the methods I intend to use... just not the only method.

MySQL is so vital to the "new" web - which is a ridiculous statement because it's been around forever (well, since 1995) but it's becoming more and more vital to the more dynamic, content rich websites we currently see on the web. MySQL couldn't work without PHP to connect the dots.

No designer worth their pixels gets by without their trusty photoshop. That being said, however, I've managed with Corel's paint shop for several years now - let's just say it makes me versatile but I will absolutely say that photoshop is indeed a cut above and can completely understand why it's the industry standard!

Of course Flash is a necessary evil in the web design world. I've used it for years, as little as possible. On a personal level I feel like it's completely overdone, but I do appreciate it for things such as embedding audio and video. It is primarilly cross-platform compatible, especially in the situation such as with the radio station. I have embedded a player on the "listen" page that has been instrumental to people who don't want or don't understand how to use players such as iTunes, winamp, WMP etc. With the popularity of the iPhone however, I definitely see a future where Flash is replaced by something more robust and reliable. Oh how I would love to watch Hulu on my iPod!

Fireworks is a good goto app at times when limitations that Corel has cause a work slowdown. I have been using Fireworks since version 3.0, however - I will be using it less and less with the improved workflow between photoshop and dreamweaver.

Now... here's the exciting one for me! I have 1/2 dozen ideas for iPhone apps and can't wait to start the training sessions for this one!
